We realllllly hit the jackpot when it comes to brides and grooms. I told Brandon the day after Shelby & Hunter’s wedding that I just felt happy. It’s hard to put into words how fulfilling it is to wake up the morning after a really great wedding, with a freakin awesome bride and groom.
In case you haven’t noticed, it has rained a lot over the past couple of months. Saturday was no different, and it poured minutes before the ceremony. The rain stopped long enough to dry the chairs for an outdoor ceremony, and drizzled the whole time.
The most incredible thing happened the moment the doors opened for Shelby to walk down the aisle. The sun came out. The sunlight backlit the raindrops, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful backdrop. I have goose bumps just thinking about it.
They decided to see each other before the ceremony. We had plenty of time to do almost all portraits before the ceremony, but even better than that was even though they’d seen each other before the ceremony, Hunter had tears in his eyes when Shelby came down the aisle. If you’re worried that a first look will take away some of the wedding day emotion, don’t. It might make it even sweeter. And Shelby probably said 10 times that she wasn’t nervous at all after seeing Hunter. I’d call that a win. 🙂
We didn’t get to meet Shelby & Hunter until the day of their wedding since they were working out of the state, and I can’t help but feel a little sad that we didn’t get to spend more time with them because they were just so much fun to work with.
It was such a good day.
